MicroSURP Research Internship
Microbiology Summer Undergraduate Research Program:
Completed in the summer of 2019 after my sophomore year at Oklahoma, I spent 10 weeks working in the Koehler lab in the department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics. Dr. Koehler's lab focuses on the molecular biology of Bacillus anthracis, and my project sought to clarify the function of two novel small RNA molecules. I learned and carried out molecular cloning, PCR, beta-galactosidase assays, and maintenance of liquid and solid cultures. At the program's conclusion, I prepared an abstract, which is available from the button on the right.
